Things to Do in Longview, TX
Festivals abound year-round. If you visit the first weekend in June you’ll want
to celebrate AlleyFest, the kick-off to summer. Other festivals include a Juneteenth
celebration, a Shakespeare festival, a three-day world-class balloon competition
and race, the county fair, the Kennel Club Dog Show and various holiday celebrations.
Tyler Street is filled with antique shops, boutiques, crafter malls, restaurants,
coffee shops and much more. Longview also boasts four golf courses, two bowling
alleys, amusement centers, movie theatres, a skating center and 20 shopping centers.
Longview Balloon Races
This world-class event attracts the very best competitive pilots from across the
globe. Balloon festivals and rallies provide both participants and spectators with
an opportunity to see an outstanding array of hot-air balloons.
Gregg County Historical Museum
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum features permanent
exhibits that illustrate the development of Gregg County.
